“Snake in my mind”

  • by

I spent the morning looking at statues from Antiquity. I love how artists like Michaelangelo made the faces of these sculptures. Stoic in expression, yet somehow conveying emotion. Mostly the emotion expressed is the emotion felt by the viewer when they see the sculptures. It’s an interesting way to let the viewer experience the art. It’s for this same reason that the eyes I draw have no pupils: the “empty” eyes lets the viewer’s emotions fill the figure I drew with their own feelings.

As always, I steal from artists far greater and more talented than I. I created tattoo flash this morning, taking the faces of Antiquity sculptures into my work. This is one of the pieces of flash I drew.
