I’ve spent the last two years working on my drawing and painting almost nonstop. I’ve experimented, tested and tried all kinds of new techniques that have all helped me refine my style even more. I’ve completed over 16 paintings in the last 22 months, and some of them have already found new homes with collectors.
My first public exhibition
While still very intimidated and weary of actual art galleries (it’s not you, galleries, it’s me) I’ve decided to finally show 12 of my paintings to the public in a setting that I feel more comfortable in: A live music bar.
On Thursday, 26 May 2022 I will be showing my paintings while there is live music, stand-up comedy and spoken word. It’s an event that I put together with my creative Partner Kyle, from The Kyle High Club at JARR Bar in Weavind Park, Pretoria.
We will have a final few copies of “Kuns-Matig Vol 1.” available for sale. It’s a cool little anthology that Kyle and I put together combining my drawings with his words. It was one of the coolest creative projects I have ever been a part of and it brought to life these interesting, weird, trippy, little collectable zine that I am extremely proud of.
My paintings will also be on sale, although if you are interested in acquiring a particular piece before the exhibition feel free to contact me for the price. Keep an eye on my Instagram over the coming weeks to see the paintings that will be on show.
Far From Friends, Fritz Gun and Clarize are going to play some live music during the nigh. Far From Friends is a band that I have created album art for, so it’s only fitting if they play at my first exhibition.
